Trenance Cottages are a unique trio of renovated Cornish cottages and the result of Newquay's biggest ever community-led restoration project.
Now standing proud in the Trenance Valley, Rose, Middle and Vine Cottage are beautifully renovated, Grade II listed cottages. The cottages are open to the public and include a heritage museum, a function room, The Garden tearoom, an ice-cream outlet and Babel Fish Language School. Thus, fulfilling the ambition of the volunteers to restore the historic site to its former glory and provide a heritage resource for all the community. The site has been lovingly restored and is managed by the charity, Trenance Cottages Newquay. Through the charity, the board of trustees and the army of volunteers preserve, protect and display period artefacts in the cottages to offer visitors an insight in to the heritage of Newquay, its residents of the past, and its period architecture- with parts of the old buildings dating back to the 1800's. Trenance Cottages are a modest group of buildings lying within an established municipal park owned by Cornwall Council. The aesthetic quality of the cottages, set within a picturesque valley and gardens, creates some stunning views- contributing towards a special visitor experience for all to visit. |
